Why rent instead of bringing your own bike

Taking a bike to Dubai means organising transport and paying for it, and you can skip all of that. The MX-Academy rents competition motocross bikes at the DMX-Track Jebel Ali, so you arrive with a suitcase and ride on the day. Track fee, fuel and drinking water come with every rental bike, and you add coaching or gear as you need.

The rental bikes are light competition models, not heavy travel enduros. A Honda CRF250 weighs around 110 kg, so it stays manageable in soft sand where a big touring bike quickly becomes hard work. Lighter means more fun and more safety, especially on your first days in the sand.

Bikes available at the Jebel Ali track

For motorbike rental in Dubai, the choice includes KTM 250 motocross bikes, Honda CRF bikes in four sizes and kids' bikes from Yamaha and Torrot. When you enquire, give your height and riding level, so the right size can be planned before you arrive. Children and smaller riders get smaller bikes and gear.

If you are in Dubai for a week or longer and want to ride on several days, ask for the 10-hour package, which lowers the price per hour. For the days on which you want a coach, book lessons instead; bike and gear are then already included.

Travelling with children

Families do not need to bring kids' bikes either. Children from age 4 start on a small Yamaha PW50 or a Torrot model, and gear is available in kids' sizes. Torrot kids' bikes start from AED 350 an hour, fuel, drinking water and track fee included, and children up to 12 pay kids' prices for lessons.

Children normally learn with a coach, so for a first try book a lesson for your child rather than a bike on its own. The 30-minute introduction course is short enough to fit into any holiday day and shows quickly whether your child wants more.

Rental rules and prices in AED

Riding a rental bike without coaching is allowed for intermediate riders and for riders who are supervised. With little or no experience, book a lesson instead: the all-inclusive packages already bundle the bike, gear and a coach with fuel, water and the track fee.

Every price is given per rider in AED and applies when you ride in Dubai. Bike rental starts from AED 450 per hour, with a 10-hour package for longer stays, and protective gear costs from AED 49 per item or pair, or AED 200 for a full set. The price table shows every rate.

What to pack for riding in Dubai

With gear available in all sizes, your packing list is short. You can bring just the parts you like to wear yourself, such as boots, helmet or goggles, and rent everything else, or travel without any riding gear and rent a full set on site.

Book from home with your travel dates and say whether you want laps on your own on the track, lessons or a desert ride later. Requests reach the team via info@mx-academy.ch, phone or WhatsApp, and you receive a confirmation or a different date that works.

From the track into the sand

Rental bikes also go into the desert once you have the skills. A desert ride in Dubai requires basic off-road and sand experience, so newcomers plan around three track days beforehand, and riders who already ride off-road should still plan one sand day at the very least. Experienced desert riders then lead the group, and a small daily convenience fee applies for desert riders.

Off-road motorbike rental for the desert means you keep the same light bike and the same protective gear that you used on the track, so you only have to get used to one bike during your stay.

No. Competition bikes from KTM and Honda and small kids' bikes are for rent at the Jebel Ali track, and the rental price covers track fee, fuel and drinking water.

Can I rent a bike in Dubai as a beginner?

Only with coaching or supervision, because rental on your own is for intermediate riders. Beginners book a lesson that includes bike, gear and coach.

How are rental prices in Dubai calculated?

A rental bike starts from AED 450 an hour, and a 10-hour package lowers the hourly price; track fee, fuel and drinking water are included. Prices are per rider and apply on site.

Can I rent protective gear in Dubai?

Yes, in all sizes, as single items, pairs or a full set, so you can travel with only the gear you want to bring.

Can my children rent bikes too?

Yes. From age 4 children ride the Yamaha PW50 or a Torrot kids' bike, and protective gear comes in kids' sizes.
