Plan from home, ride in Dubai
Motocross training in Dubai fits easily into a holiday: lessons for every level at the Jebel Ali track, bikes and gear to rent on site and a date of your choice. Here is what to plan before you fly.
Already in the UAE? Motocross training in Dubai on mx-academy.ae

Learning or improving motocross abroad is easier than it sounds: the MX-Academy runs lessons for all levels at the DMX-Track Jebel Ali, and you pick the date. Flying from Switzerland takes around six hours. During Swiss summer time the clock in Dubai shows two hours more than at home, and during Swiss winter time three hours more, since the UAE has no daylight saving. A long weekend is already enough for a few hours on the bike.
You do not have to ship anything. Bikes and complete protective gear are waiting at the track, and the coaches adapt your dirt bike training in Dubai to your level, whether you have never ridden or already race at home. Plenty of visitors start from zero and still try their first basic jumps by the end of day one.

Decide first how much track time you want from your motocross lessons in Dubai. The 30-minute introduction course is the short version for a first taste. Group lessons for two or more riders last one, two or three hours, and private packages range from one to 15 hours with a coach just for you. Coaching only, with your own bike and gear, is mainly an option for riders who live in the Emirates.
Prices are quoted per rider in AED and are valid on site in Dubai. The all-inclusive packages contain everything for the day: bike, protective gear, coaching, fuel, drinking water and the track fee. The group introduction course starts from AED 500 for adults, children up to 12 pay lower kids' rates, and the price table lists every option up to 15 hours.

Like any good off-road motorcycle course, the coaching starts with position: standing and sitting at the right moment, where your feet go and how you load the footpegs. Then come braking and accelerating, careful use of the throttle and, when you are ready, jumping with preload, scrubbing and bike control in the air.
More experienced riders bring their questions from home: how to read a track, nail the start and win the holeshot, handle ruts, pass and defend a line, and keep their eyes far ahead. The sessions also touch on fitness and mental strength, the things that help you push your limits safely. Most of all, the time on the bike should be fun.

Pack light. Complete protective gear is available in all sizes as single items or a full set, so you only bring what you prefer to wear yourself, such as your own helmet or boots. Competition bikes from KTM and Honda are ready at the track, together with small bikes for children.
Renting a bike without a lesson is for intermediate riders or those with supervision. If you are a beginner, plan a lesson: bike and gear are part of the package and there is nothing else to organise. Models and conditions are described under motorbike rental in Dubai.
There are two ways to organise the trip: book the MX package, or arrange flights and accommodation yourself and ask the MX-Academy to plan just your riding days. Send your travel dates and preferred training days by email to info@mx-academy.ch, by phone or by WhatsApp. If a day is already full, the team proposes another one. Answers come in English or Arabic.
Between lessons there is time for the rest of Dubai: beaches, sightseeing and shopping. For your days off the bike, there are plenty of ideas under things to do in Dubai. Plan your track days early in the stay if you also want a desert ride, because riding in the dunes needs sand skills first.

Behind MX-Academy Dubai stand Mohammed Al Balooshi and Chris Möckli. Chris Möckli is the founder and owner and a two-time European champion (IMBA Openclass 2004 and 2005). The coaches are motocross and rally riders with long experience who know the tracks and the desert around Dubai, and this motocross school in Dubai teaches in a calm, patient way with small groups.
